This article is about an older version of DF.
A tiny, jolly humanoid creature that dwells in the fair mountains. They are known to enjoy drinking liquor and don't care whether it's theirs or not.

Mountain gnomes are weak humanoid Template:L that appear on Template:L Template:Lous maps. Their intelligence is on par with Template:L and other sentient creatures, but they lack the ability to communicate verbally, one possible reason they haven't formed a Template:L.

If you leave Template:L out in the open, they will steal it, leaving your Template:L Template:L of starvation and dehydration, but otherwise they are "harmless", fleeing if confronted (to the point of running off a Template:L if necessary). Given their small Template:L, they pose no physical threat to any dwarf and can be easily killed by anyone who isn't Template:L.

Gnomes can be easily trapped by placing a single Template:L Template:L of booze in a small Template:L and surrounding the barrel with Template:L. Since gnomes often travel in groups, several layers of cages should be used so that the bait stays untouched.

Template:L is extremely toxic to Mountain Gnomes. Unlike their Template:L, Mountain Gnomes are diurnal creatures.
