Schist is a metamorphic stone. It contains a wide variety of gems.

In real life[edit]

Schist is a medium-grained metamorphic rock exhibiting a quality known as 'schistosity' meaning it is a composite of mineral grains of diverse sorts. It can host metamorophic gemstones such as garnet, emerald, and ruby.

D4Dwarf.png This article or section has been rated D for Dwarf. It may include witty humour, not-so-witty humour, bad humour, in-jokes, pop culture references, and references to the Bay12 forums. Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable.

'Schistosity' is a dwarven term for the mineral-like attractiveness of another dwarf. Example, "Urist rolled a high schistosity score on his stone die."
