A miller is a dwarf who mills plants at either a quern or millstone, placing the resulting goods into bags. Milling produces one unit of dye, flour or sugar per item milled. Milled items have no quality associated with them.

A quern must be operated by the dwarf himself, while the millstone uses outside mechanical power (either a waterwheel or a windmill).

Millable plants and their products

  • Blade weed
Blade weed produces Emerald dye when milled, which is worth 20 ☼.
  • Cave wheat
Cave wheat produces an unit of dwarven wheat flour, which is worth 20 ☼. Flours must be cooked before they can be eaten.
  • Dimple cup
Dimple cup is milled into dimple dye, which is worth 20 ☼.
  • Hide root
Hide root is ground obviously into redroot dye, which is worth 10 ☼
  • Longland grass
Longland grass is milled for famous longland flour, worth 20 ☼. Flours must be cooked before they can be eaten.
  • Sliver barb
Sliver barb is the sole ingredient in black dye, worth 20 ☼.
  • Sweet pod
Sweet pod is the multipurpose plant which, when milled, produces dwarven sugar, worth 20 ☼. Sugar must be cooked before it can be eaten.
  • Whip vine
Whip vine produces the most expensive product of milled plants: Whip vine flour, worth 25 ☼. Flours must be cooked before they can be eaten.
