So don’t leave your masterpiece items in the open or else your dwarf who made that item can throw a tantrum. Raccoons will likely not attack your dwarves or your pets. But if provoked, they will defend themselves. They can seriously wound or even kill a normal dog. A untrained peasent dwarf can also be wounded by a raccoon. A armed hunter or skilled dwarf can easily kill a raccoon.
