Wikipedia article

This article is about an older version of DF.

Mountain gnomes are weak humanoid Template:L that appear on Template:Lous maps. If you leave Template:L or Template:L out in the open, they will steal it, leaving your dwarfs dying of starvation and dehydration, but otherwise they are "harmless", will flee from your Template:L if confronted (to the point of being pushed off a Template:L if necessary), and are easily killed. They can be killed by even unarmed, untrained dwarves; a drafted woodsman will make short work of even a pack of them.

Mountain gnomes do not generally carry equipment. They cannot be butchered, and drop three Template:Ls and a Template:L when killed. Despite its name, Template:L does not appear to have any effect on them.

The only difference between mountain gnomes and Template:Ls is that dark gnomes have the [EVIL] tag instead of [GOOD] and are [NOCTURNAL] instead of [DIURNAL]. Therefore, it makes little sense that dark gnomes are stronger than mountain gnomes.
