([DRY] doesn't mean the biome has to be dry - it just means they won't grow next to water (i.e. pools or rivers) - by comparison, Willow trees are [WET] and only grow near water)

This article is about an older version of DF.

The feather tree is a special Template:L that grows only in Template:L aligned areas that are warmer than Template:L.

It is also the lightest wood in the game, so it should be used for things that get hauled around very frequently (and probably should not be used to make ballista bolts).
