This article is about an older version of DF.

Animal trainers train Template:Ls at the Template:L to be war dogs or hunting dogs. They also tame certain captured wild Template:L and Template:L, though exotic Template:L (such as Template:Ls) can only be tamed once you have a Template:L.

Higher skill only allows faster training of animals.

Training an animal requires a small amount of Template:L, which is consumed by the animal. Any Template:Ls, Template:Ls or Template:Ls are left in the animal's Template:L, if it was in one. Since the cage isn't empty, it can't be used to load a cage Template:L. Currently, the only way to clean items out a cage is to Template:L them from the Z-Template:L menu once you have a Template:L.[Verify]

Once the animal is trained, they will tend to follow whomever trained them around until assigned to another person, adopted, or some such other task.

Additionally, only dwarves with Animal Training labor enabled will transfer hostile creatures between cages.
