Trigger[edit]

What kicks off encountering one? --Loganis 21:34, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Well I just got a dragon with 81 dwarves, so it isn't 100 population. 24.229.112.97 02:50, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
It's definitely not just wealth, though. I've got my population capped at 55, but I've got 41 Million ☼ wealth, and I've still gotten none (and several survived worldgen). 70.138.29.184 03:37, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
I think it's a trade-off, for instance more population means you need less wealth and vice versa. I just got a titan and I only have 360,000 wealth created, but 100-ish non child dwarves (I think babies and children don't count for triggers)--173.73.166.152 21:34, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Ticker[edit]

A thought occurs: you have a hydra, a handful of lowly recruits, a remote mineshaft, and three hefty bulwarks to defend your fortress. Do megabeasts have some sort of timer, much like sieges, until they simply leave? The one I'm dealing with stops chasing dwarves or animals and goes to an exploratory mine I set up at the edge of the map to just... sit in one of the tunnels, idly (and it's been there for quite a while). --Bronzebeard 03:25, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
