Wikipedia article

This article is about an older version of DF.

Hornblende is an unremarkable dark gray stone which can be found almost anywhere.

In Real Life

Hornblende can contain the element radium. This highly radioactive substance is 300 times more radioactive than uranium, and, if found in the right isotope can be used in atomic weapons. Let's thank Armok that only humans are stupid enough to mess with it, otherwise there would be a lot of fun in Dwarf Fortress and we would all be keeping two headed chickens popping out eggs that would already be cooked.
