The "mica" present in Dwarf Fortress is stated in the Raw files to be based off of the mineral Muscovite, one of the multiple minerals referred to as "Mica".

Muscovite, the most common member of the mica family, has a chemical composition of either (KAl2(AlSi3O10)(F,OH)2), or (KF)2(Al2O3)3(SiO2)6(H2O) with a green, chromium rich version being refereed to as Fuchsite. It is found in high-grade metamorphic stones such as Template:L and Template:L, and in silica-rich igneous intrusive stones such as Template:L and Pegmatite.
