Freshwater lakes can be found covering large areas on certain world maps. Lakes have slopes leading into the water, making them ideal for learning how to swim. Lakes are filled with freshwater (not saltwater like oceans or seas) and therefore have the same aquatic life that you would expect to find in rivers.
