Glass furnaces are used to make raw Template:L (a Template:L), Template:L, Template:L items, and several types of Template:Ls. All furniture made at a glass furnace can alternatively be made out of either Template:L, Template:L or Template:L, with the exception of Template:L, which can be made from gems. Glass furnaces can also make craft goods, and Template:L used to make certain extracts at a Template:L.

Glass furnaces can make goods from green glass, clear glass, and crystal glass. Green glass requires Template:L, clear glass requires sand and Template:L, and crystal glass requires raw Template:Ls and pearlash. Raw rock crystals are a type of gem and are not available in most regions.

Some of the names of glass furniture are different. A glass Template:L is called a Template:L, a glass Template:L is called a Template:L, and a glass Template:L is called a terrarium.

Glass furnaces are also needed to issue the "collect sand" order. This requires an empty Template:L, an Item Hauler, and a Template:L designated for sand collection. As the "Collect Sand" order will prevent other tasks from being started until the sand is collected, it is often wise to build several additional glass furnaces, Template:L or otherwise, to use for the collection of sand.

Not all maps have a source of sand, but sand may be imported. Raw glass may also be imported. Foreign merchants never have glass furniture for sale.
