The Ashery is used for creating Template:L and Template:L from Template:L. This building is necessary if the player wishes to create clear or crystal Template:L, Template:L, or Template:L. This building uses the "ashery operating" Template:L, which encompasses the "potash maker" and "lye maker" skills.
Unless it is desired to make soap, there is little benefit in making ash into lye, aside from the additional Template:L granted in the process of following the extended production chain.
