In the supplies tab - at least now in 31.03 - you can actually change these settings with the 4 upper right keys on the num pad - as is shown a little inconspicuously in the upper left pane of your screenshot too. Hope it works for you --Old Ancient 02:12, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw the keys, I just couldn't get it to work in 01 (haven't upgraded yet, waiting for the final bugfix). I'll change the text to reflect that though, thanks. --Retro 02:22, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
The final bugfix?? TINSTAAFBugfix[1]. --Old Ancient 03:09, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Another suggestion: In some places I think you need to point out in more detail where to navigate with what keys and cursors - for example it is easy to set civilians to an alert instead of the squad you wanted. But great work so far! --Old Ancient 03:07, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. I'll revise minorly for now and then look at it again after I've got this essay out of the way. --Retro 15:27, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Fantastic job! Thanks. Josiwe 01:41, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

I verify that as of 31.12 you can indeed select multiple burrows, removing the verify tag now.--Furlion 06:04, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Part time Militia?[edit]

Inactive is a full schedule of empty orders, causing your dwarves to do nothing but sit around and
individually train if they are a certain military skill level
(otherwise they'll retain their civilian jobs).

Whoa, wait a minute! At what point do they go full military? If they're "retaining their civilian jobs" will they still train? Does this mean I could create an ROTC squad, set to Inactive, and have them learning new labor-skills while also occasionally training? Would it be wise for my early-game dwarves to all belong to at least one squad or another, training wrestling maneuvers, etc? Romeofalling 07:47, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Green Check in Equip (e)[edit]

What does this check do? Some of my dorfs have it, but it dosent mean that it is what the have euipped as I have no adamantine helms/grieves and such.

Simply means that they haven't been assigned yet by the system. If you exit the screen, wait a minute, and then come back then it should assign them if they are available. If you tell them to wear spoilerite helms and you don't have any spoilerite helms, they can't right wear them, now can they?--Kwieland 04:06, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
