Interesting information[edit]
I'm not sure how or where to add this information.
There is a situation (probably a bug) where sending caged troglodytes (and probably other animals) to the Trade Depot releases them from the cages instead, resulting in them fighting the fortress. I could bypass this by editing their raws to add [PET_EXOTIC]. I had experimented in removing CAN_LEARN][SLOW_LEARNER], but removing both these tags by themselves does not bypass the bug, and having these tags does not trigger the bug if [PET_EXOTIC] is added. --Lurker (talk) 03:31, 19 September 2026 (UTC)
- Sounds fine to me to add it to
[PET]or[PET_EXOTIC]descriptions on the Creature token page - I can imagine trivia like that being useful to modders. --DarklingArcher (talk) 09:52, 19 September 2026 (UTC)- Thanks for the feedback. I added it to the Trade page, since apparently it was a known bug that civilized creatures like goblins turned aggressive when traded, but it seems nobody realized this is true for troglodytes as well, and I assume other creatures like trolls (I have a few caged, I'll wait for the next caravan to test out if they can be traded or not). So this should be a decent work-around. --Lurker (talk) 13:56, 19 September 2026 (UTC)
- Strictly speaking, it's not a "bug" but a poorly-understood feature that whenever you bring a container to the trade depot, the game deliberately removes all "untradeable" items/creatures from it (which includes untameable creatures and originally also included artifacts). --Quietust (talk) 14:05, 19 September 2026 (UTC)
