40d Talk:Native aluminum

From Dwarf Fortress Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Turns out you actually can find native aluminium in RL, it's just ultra uncommon. See http://webmineral.com/data/Aluminum.shtml Bryan Derksen 14:19, 9 July 2008 (EDT)

Definitely aluminum cluster inside a copper vein. Totally works. --Zchris13 12:27, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, but the previous post implied that it was only found in copper veins...

Aluminum is often found in clusters among copper veins...

Everyone who's played a little knows that ain't right.

ps - just noticed that the margin notation lists only clusters. Am changing that too. --Albedo 22:01, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

A small cluster in a vein, is still only a small cluster. And I doubt claims that you're finding Aluminum in Copper, beyond the fact that *only* random chance can cause it. They're two minerals that occur in the same environment. Read the Raws for yourself if you don't believe me... and find something more conclusive to back up non-talk edits. You'll save everyone a good amount of hassle. --Edward 01:01, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Aluminum veins must be a glitch[edit]

Okay, I saw the aluminum vein, but it's true - the RAW's don't lie.

[MATGLOSS_STONE:ALUMINUM]
[NAME:native aluminum][COLOR:7:7:1][TILE:'^']
[ENVIRONMENT:IGNEOUS_EXTRUSIVE:CLUSTER_SMALL:100]

It had to be a glitch. I'm removing the "almost exclusively" - no need to confuse folk.

And I agree - clusters can show up anywhere, even in other veins. It's random. --Albedo 07:54, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
