Playing the most recent version of the game, Mac vanilla, and I tried to get a perpetually flowing aquifer river going.  First I dug a room and pierced aquifer inside and sealed it.  Next I went to the level above, dug holes in the floor to the pool below, and then dug into the wall of that room which was also an aquifer.

Since water was coming out of the upper aquifer tile horizontally, and filling a pool with a direct connection to a level below, shouldn't the water in the lower level have become pressurized and flowed back into the exposed Aquifer on the lower level, thus setting up flow?
