In my opinion, the Titan article should be the default page for both Titans ( as in, the overland big boys ) as well as a subarticle on the same page for Forgotten Beasts, since Forgotten Beasts are just basically subterranean Titans.

Really, its silly to keep two pages, one for the old version and one for the new version. It'll only confuse new users and take up more space. Why not just merge both articles, with a section in the end called '''''Titans in old versions''''' just like every other game wiki does with features that have been changed drastically? :The way the admins have set up the version namespaces allows players searching from v0.31 (or whatever it will be called) pages to find v0.31 pages and likewise 40d to 40d and so on. So yeah, it's really confusing right now, but once some time has gone by and all the new stubs have been expanded into full pages and the stable release has gotten everyone playing this version, it'll cease to be an issue. --[[User:Retro|Retro]] 00:03, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Any tips on how to beat them?  Whenever I fight one the military dwarves (both mine and merchant guards) pull off most of its body parts very fast but are then unable to damage it further, though the titan itself doesn't dish out much damage it obviously causes lots of problems having an unending megabeast battle outside my front door.  I've managed to kill them with a constructed cave-in trap but I'd like something less gamey if possible.

I encountered an Ocean Titan made of a blob of fire that had wings.  It jumped down my refuse put and laid waste to my dining halls before I was able to lure it into my farm area.  At some point I noticed both his wings were gone.  I flooded the area in the hope that it was hurting him, but the steam just kept rising.  He finally went down through my resevoir with lots of water and evaporated it all and then blue out my flood gate that was plugging the bottom.  The titan is laying waste to my dwarves now as the lower caverns begin to flood.

If the titan isn't magma-safe, then you can cause a cave-in over its head to knock it unconcious and make it trigger a cage trap, and then dump the cage into magma. I designated a separate shaft from the surface through all cave levels, with a small chamber at each level containing a drawbridge. The shaft is connected to a cell block that will contain my titans. A titan will then route it's way through the shaft and into one of the cells I want it to be trapped in. While the titan attempts to break down the door between cell and fortress, I lift the bridge between cell and shaft, then I lift the bridge between cell and door. Trapped.

No, actually it shouldn't. What will happen is this:
  • In the 40d namespace, the existing "titan" article, 40d:titan, will remain as is, untouched - still valid and accurate as it stands for this version.
  • A new article will be created for "( newversion# ):titan", to be forever consistent with all other newversion# articles.*
  • The Search term "titan" will redirect to "cv:titan", which it does now, so no edit necessary there. ("cv" = "current version", so "titan" redirects to 40d now, and will redirect to the next version as soon as we have that one up and running.*)
