Had Some Fun and Grew Some

I was trying to build a circulating water flow, but underestimated the power of water pressure and flooded my fortress. Fun.

My dwarfs hacked the axle controlling the pumps to pieces, and it was made of fungiwood. I wasn't paying much attention, but when the dust settled, the fungiwood was gone and there was a 'Muddy young fungiwood' a few squares from the pump's mouth. This was right next to the embark point on the side of a mountain, and it was a cave I had mined out myself. Additionally, there was a Muddy Dead Shrub nearby.

Could it be that fungiwood logs, when immersed in mud, can grow back into fungiwood?
