:Are you certain the cloth has not been used by your hospital? If an item of cloth has been used as a bandage, it's no longer considered a stack of 10,000 and won't be valid for the usual workshop-related tasks. Even if your hospital was well stocked with cloth for bandages, it's not guaranteed that your medical dwarves used what was stocked in the hospital - they pick materials based on proximity when they initially "pick up" the job. It is also possible that a medical dwarf took something out of the hospital, but that item was replaced by a hauler before the bandaging was finished, so the cloth used as a bandaged was returned to the cloth stockpile (because the hospital no longer has room for it). ::I'm experiencing the same problem, although for me it's not imported cloth, but the '''initial embark cloth'''.--[[Special:Contributions/83.163.97.237|83.163.97.237]] 22:37, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

Does anyone know if Adamantine strands can be dyed before turning them into cloth?  I'm running parallel adamantine production and dyed cloth production, and I don't know if I should be checking my dyed threads for being adamantine. --[[User:Aescula|Aescula]] 08:37, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
