::Thanks for such a swift response. Alas, when I went to the combat logs the event was too old. I'll keep the world in case the reports are in the files or something. I checked my weapons and found two large daggers which he might have been carrying. Where my dorfs dumped his body I found a steel crossbow and a single pine bolt (probably the killer). I think that the marksmen getting a lucky shot is the most likely cause. Thanks again for the help. --The Dorfen Spartan 07:37, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

:::To add to this, my fortress was attacked (in version 0.25) by about 8 or 9 goblins. Since I was unprepared to fight them off, I simply shut the door to wait them out. During this time, a cyclops showed up. It went straight for the goblins, but almost immediately turned and spent the remainder of its life running all over the map until they finally killed it (without any goblin casualties or injuries that I can tell). -- Dark T Zeratul 22:50, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Cyclops are really not that dangerous. I sent in my military when one showed up. Now they were pretty well trained. Level 12 or so swordsdwarf, the first dwarf got there before anyone else, the cyclops never even got in an attack. The dwarf missed, then slashed his arm, destroying it, then nailed him a couple times in the head and that was it.--Crossmr 12:12, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
