:I second that; the archery ranges see no action. I can't even get my military dwarves to use ammunition at all, despite having designated it in the military menu and procured a vast store of quivers (although a hunter got a few bolts and went out to kill some deer once, which made me squeal with giddiness -- never since then, however). --[[User:Bronzebeard|Bronzebeard]] 05:57, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

::This, can we please get some further testing from those who have gotten it working? I have tried everything, and I got my dwarves training, but then they stopped again. I have tried everything suggested on this page and others, including changing their ammo configuration around all over the place. Is there a way to make this work consistently or are there still bugs? If the latter, this page should mention that it doesn't always work.

:::Ranged fighters will only practice if they have Training ammunition stored in their quivers, so if their quivers are filled with Combat-only ammunition then '''they will never practice'''. Try dumping the combat-only ammo from their quivers (and either atomsmashing or trading it to a caravan if they don't immediately run to the stockpiles to get more bolts). --[[User:Quietust|Quietust]] 17:18, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
