This article is about an older version of DF.

Some tips on how to keep your dwarves Template:L, thus reducing the chances of Template:Ling and tantrum spirals:

  • Make the community Template:L your non-Template:L dwarves dine in high Template:L. You can increase its quality by making the room bigger, putting in more Template:Ls and Template:Ls, Template:L and Template:L it, and putting in valuable Template:L like Template:L Template:Ls.
  • Template:L with or train up a Template:L, so your dwarves can enjoy high Template:L Template:L.
  • Embark with or train up Template:L, so your dwarves can enjoy high quality Template:L.
    • Make sure you never run out of booze, since a sober dwarf is an unhappy dwarf.
    • Make sure to have at least two different kinds of booze on hand, since dwarves will get bored if there's no variety in their drinks.
    • Try to have all different varieties of booze on hand, since dwarves get a happier thought out of drinking the kind of booze they prefer.
  • Give your dwarves individual Template:Ls rather than making them live in a communal Template:L. Not only will they get a good thought from sleeping in their own bedroom, they'll get good thoughts from admiring the furniture they own.
    • If the Template:L is inactive (currently always the case in 0.31), make their bedrooms high quality.
  • Place highly valuable Template:L in a high traffic area of your fort, since dwarves get a happy thought if they pass right next to or over expensive furniture.
  • Dwarves who Template:L will get an unhappy thought when exposed to sunlight. To avoid this, put a combination Template:L/Template:L on the surface.
  • Keep at least a few Template:Ls around to hunt down irritating Template:L.
  • Put a Template:L in a high traffic area (like the meeting area) and stuff it full of tame animals so your dwarves can enjoy seeing their Template:L type of animal.
