Hauling is the way raw materials, items, furniture, and possibly other things get around the fortress. Hauling is done by adult citizens who have the hauling labors enabled, and there is no other way to get said stuff to move. It is one of the few labors which have no associated skill (along with Cleaning, Give Food and Give Water).
