Log discontinued due to lack of exciting events.  The tower is up to three stories tall however, made of pure iron, and is 13x23, which means it will use ~4875 units of iron to reach the highest z-level, not counting furnishings (also all made out of iron).  Good times.

1st of Granite, 72: The Tower has long been completed, rising high into the air and of pure iron.  We have refused immigrants for some time now, keeping ourselves small and beneath notice, but births have made our population sufficient and caused the king to see fit to declare the land a barony.  No matter, our work is entering its final stages.

Our miners toil beneath the earth to create a large lake of lava surrounding the tower, and extract what wealth may be found before we destroy the countryside utterly.  Only then will we have a mountainhome secure against our enemies, a place for our King to rule from as befits him without fearing for his safety.  The throne room is nearly prepared, its crystalline windows of pure red diamond.  Excessive bedrooms we have made ready in preparation for future growth that would accompany such an event, and our stocks are filled to brimming.

And we are ready for our enemies.  A Titan did try to brave the fortress earlier this year, and was struck down by a single hammer blow from a dwarf warrior who went out to face it in single combat.  If such foes fall before us, what hope can lesser evils aspire to?

Soon our task will be complete, and Borlondoren the iron crown shall grace our king's noble brow.
