Some info

Came here from OG.ru, playing DF since 33d. As someone would notice I'm russian - so watch out for bad grammar :)

Current fortress

So be it! Catbane, founded by The Brave Forest-Jerks:

Above ground fortress in an Elven retreat. All buildings are made out of ashes. Major export is that of wooden crafts stained in kitten blood.

The start

The Brave Forest-Jerks are asleep after some initial work. 25+ elves lead by High Priest seem not to worry about dwarves deforesting their home. 5 elephants wandering around show no signs of agression so far. Let's cross the fingers.

Look here

Man... This takes a LOT of ashes...

First problem

I forgot to take any stone... It means no mechanisms, and so no traps and no raising bridges...

On the other hand, YAY!!! Breaking the aquifer!!! Hope I'll manage to do it before first goblins come.

Whoops...

When deleting backups, I accidentally deleted the wrong one, leaving the starting save only save available... So I thought: well, if I have to rebuild the place, why not start it ALL over? Result - the world regenerated, and new fort founded at the same location, with a several major build changes (another work distribution, and 20 granite)

Migrants!!!

At last, they have come! My seven dwarves were overrun by the hoards of little tasks. There are only six of them though: two peasants, fish dissector, weaponsmith, engraver (completely useless ones), and (YAY!) another woodburner... Right now I have four woodcutters, and four woodburners, and still, the ash production is too slow...

That's bad...

Trees are near extinction, and I still haven't build even a half of what's been planned. So, capped the population on 50, since I can't supply more of them with rooms... The painting of crafts in blood doesn't work at all. I'm selling prepared meals and plain (not bloodstained) wooden and shell crafts. The painting room will be just a simple execution room. And this way I can get more bones from kittens:)

That's good

The aquifer is breached, and the mason is making dosens of statues to improve Major's rooms. (since i can't engrave ash walls)

Yay!!! The elephants!!!

I've captured a mating pair! Now weell have to wait a couple of years to get an elephant ranch!

Note: animal trainer was taming one of the elephants with a turtle. I've always known that elephants are vicious predators.

Deforest the World!

It's the start of year 1055, and we'll deforest entire area! It's interesting, how much wood wil it be...

1024 logs! That's some neat number :)

The Wedding

My broker, who also is my current major got married with a woodcutter. The story is so romantic, that I can't resist posting it: when the Operation took place, this woodcutter was attacked by ferocious elephant (who was shot and killed shortly after by my brave marksdwarves). She got only a broken shoulder, but was so afraid, that couldn't move. And then my broker (who wasn't a major at that time) comes and bravely saves her! He didn't looked at the possibility of being stomped by other 5 elephants wandering about! After that, I haven't seen anyone except him bringing her water... So now, all raise the *Sunshine barrel (Maple)*s for Rith Vabôktilesh and his wife ònul Lòrdalzat!!!

First Ambush!!!

It's a spring of 1058 the fort is 7 years old! And theres the FIRST ambush. I wonder if it has something to do with my fortress value being so miserable?

Poor elves... He-he-he, so many elf chunks... My HammerLords dispatched these goblins with ease. Now, I'll need to place chained elephants around: super cheap alarm system!

I hate goblins

Scared away human caravan! I'll have to think something out...

Old forts

MinePoint see here. Was abandoned (save deleted) due to a very high impact on my work productiveness :). Next forts will evolve much more slowly...

Most successfull adventurer

He managed to knock a quest giant unconscious with a masterful throw of a troglodite hand. Then he chopped his lims off, and twisted his trusted sword in giant's chest, until it died. (Am I not nasty?)

Where I screwed up

Anyone noticed, that I screwed up? If yes, nnote it here, please.

We do that on the talk page. --Savok 23:55, 2 April 2008 (EDT)
