SquashShoot is one year old, and I'm proud of it.
 
Bad things:
 
*smoothed the roads in wrong directions, so no dwarven wagons.
 
*No sand
 
*It seems that no flux
 
*Not sure about iron (there were some sedimentary layers, but not for sure)
 
Good things:
 
*Obsidian (decent early traps and trading goods)
 
*... that's all ...

And of course it's marksgoblins. Two dwarves are already lost, and they are moving!

He will be the first to sacrifice in the Uber-Temple-Of-Water once (if) it's finished.

I've learned from this ambush.
 
Now I rewalling outer areas, so, that all acces would be shrough three chokepoints filled with traps.
 
 
 
As a last resort I'm training three marksdwarves, to stand above Trade Depot.
 
 
 
As a very last resort, I'm planning to train some hammerdwarves (forging equipment for now).
 
 
 
That will be the explanation for fort's name '''SquashShoot''': Squash is for hammers and shoot is for crossbows!
 
 
 
===Poor baby===
 
Goblin snatcher was noticed, just as he tried to snatch a baby from one of my mechanics. He decided to kill the baby... :(
 
 
 
His mother's profile says: ...has been extatic lately. Has lost a child to tragedy recently.
 
 
 
Strangely enough, after a couple of weeks, she took the '''seek infant''' job, proceeded to the trail of blood left by baby (launched far away by a goblin's blow), then returned to work. The baby himself was in the grave by the moment. Bug?
 
 
 
===Yet Another Ambush===
 
This time there were two squads:
 
*lashers, led by macegoblin, perished under the fire of my brand-new marksdwarves, as they were chasing by poor mason. They didn't catch him.
 
*swordsgoblins led by hammergoblin. Perished on the mine... err... trapfield.

It's cool, how goblin ambushes got killed by traps, without even being noticed. More free iron ^.^

Exploratory shaft, mined to the northern rock salt layer, struck hematite and... magnetite cluster!!! YAY to the miners!

I've been sick for a week, only me and dwarves... Much has happened: SquashShoot is a County, Economy started (FPS droped from 26 to 15), First siege, which has took lives of two babies and a husband of our best champion hammerdwarf (She does not really cares about anything anymore...).
 
 
 
The Temple is still not completed (I got distracted by many little things), but the work is going.
 
 
 
Many moods. I've been lucky to gain legendary Armorsmith and Weaponsmith from two of them :). And one of my Champion Swordmasters holds  an artifact Pig Iron Sword!
 
 
 
===It's complete!===
 
The Uber-Temple-Of-Water is complete with four waterfalls. It's working! I'm extatic :)
 
 
 
===But it kills my FPS===
 
The workload from flowing water dropped my FPS from 15 to 5. It's  S . . . L . . . O . . . W . . .
 
I'll try to shut waterfalls of, and will restart them only at winter, since that's when all the goblin sacrifices are going to take place.

MinePoint see here. Was abandoned (save deleted) due to a very high impact on my work productiveness :). Next forts will evolve much more slowly...

Most successfull adventurer

He managed to knock a quest giant unconscious with a masterful throw of a troglodite hand. Then he chopped his lims off, and twisted his trusted sword in giant's chest, until it died. (Am I not nasty?)
