Proposed move

I think this should probably be moved to File:Quickstart flowchart.png, since it goes with the quickstart guide best. There are a couple other pages besides the quickstart guide that include this image, and I think they fit better with the older version. Any opinions? —Lethosor (talk) 18:16, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

I agree, in the sense this is a differently-designed flowchart and as such, would deserve it's own page (as with all pictures that significantly alter their contents after revision). The articles may have references to the older flowchart that aren't reflected properly on this new version.--Doktoro Reichard (talk) 19:52, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I wanted this to be a superior version of the old flowchart, and to replace it completely. A number of people on the Reddit DF subforum agreed with me that this version is better than the old one, and would be more helpful for new players. If you do not agree, I would be happy to accept changes (https://github.com/PTFort/QuickstartFlowchart). As well, all pages that refer to the flowchart simply say that this flowchart shows the general steps to starting a fortress, and may not be complete or the most informative. I believe that description applies equally well to both versions. Thank for your comments. --PT Fort (talk) 05:28, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Apparently I didn't notice the Reddit post. It's fine with me if we keep it here (my only concern was that information in it might conflict with other pages, but it doesn't look like that's the case). —Lethosor (talk) 15:47, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Layout

Being a DF newb this new version does seem quite a bit more useful. The only negative compared to the old one is the horizontal layout. If this could be laid out vertically I think it would be a great improvement to usability. Janzert (talk)
