Weaving is used at a [[Loom]] to weave cloth from cave spider silk thread, rope reed thread and pig tail thread. Unlike most intermediate goods, cloth has a quality value, so dwarves with high skill in weaving will weave higher quality cloth. Collecting spider webs also requires the weaving skill, and trains the weaving skill.
For weaving cloth at the Loom, from cave spider silk and plant fiber. High skill does affect the quality of the produced cloth, including masterpiece cloth that can be tailored into clothing and bags. If an item made of masterpiece cloth is say, washed down the river, the weaver will suffer bad thoughts from the loss of a Masterpiece. Collecting cave spider webs also trains a dwarf's weaving skill.
