This article is about an older version of DF.

Once your fortress has attracted the third and final tier of population, production, and trade nobles, the Duke (or Duchess) will be summoned.

The Duke arrives with his/her consort and causes "The Incoming King" to appear in your Nobles status screen, along with meeting diplomats (in place of your Count or Baron), making numerous mandates, and producing large quantities of children.
