My dwarfs hacked the axle controlling the pumps to pieces, and it was made of fungiwood. I wasn't paying much attention, but when the dust settled, the fungiwood was gone and there was a 'Muddy young fungiwood' a few squares from the pump's mouth. This was right next to the embark point on the side of a mountain, and it was a cave I had mined out myself.
