:Have you scrutinized the combat logs? I've heard of powerful unarmed opponents grabbing the first object they come across to use as a weapon, and if that happens to be a sock, you end up with a laughably ineffective enemy. Alternatively, what training weapons were your dorfs armed with? Maybe a speardwarf felled the big lug with one lucky shot to a vital organ. :Come to think of it, I'm not sure about the speardwarf bit, as training weapons are blunt, not sharp. Though I guess a crossbowdwarf might have been similarly lucky. But really, I'm not that surprised that a swarm of dwarves could take down a cyclops without casualties, especially if they all reached the cyclops together and were armored. Gobbos armed with blunt weapons, whips, or scourges would be a bigger threat. You could get a better answer if you asked at the forums ([http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?board=7.0]).
