why would you need to build walls around the bathtub? I tought it would be simple enough to channel the tub and fill with water. --188.67.252.161 11:24, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

: I just channeled out a tub, and it worked fine, but mine doesn't look quite as pretty as these pictures.  --2128 (talk) 14:46, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

How to handle the contaminants in the tub?  I possibly had some trouble with my "bathtub", but I can't say for sure.  It worked very well but became full of contaminants very quickly.  A little while after it had been installed I had two military dwarves suddenly bleed to death rather quickly, and I didn't know why.  It didn't appear to be caused by any injuries, so I thought maybe they'd gotten a syndrome somehow.  I thought maybe they'd eaten something contaminated, as happened in this forum post.  A lot of the food in my military's backpacks had "a coating of water", presumably from the bathtub.  I've floored over the bathtub and it hasn't happened again.  Could have been something else, though, since I never really found the cause, and there were a few other contaminated locations in my fortress. Or maybe they walked through the bathtub barefoot while changing equipment, or something. Seemed worth a note. If someone has more information about contaminants in such a bathtub, feel free to share. --2128 (talk) 14:46, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
