This is the only source of shells except for fishes and forgotten beasts. It shouldn't hurt to have some of them in your backyard.--Niggy 22:17, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Snailmen yielding bones
My carpenter killed a couple of snailmen in my current fortress. The butcher refuded to work with them but surprisingly they rotted and they left snailmen bones, despite the [NOBONES] Tag.
