This article is about an older version of DF.
A large bear-like creature with a striking coat of black and white hair. It feeds on bamboo forests.

Pandas are fairly docile and will run away from dwarves. Unless they are attacked, they will not harm your dwarves.
When angry, however, they are strong enough to kill an unarmed/untrained peasant. Note that if you buy a tame panda from the elves it will only eat bamboo, and can easily starve unless assigned to a pen/pasture with bamboo in it. The elves will not mention this to you.
