This article is about an older version of DF.

Ash is created from a Template:L at a Template:L by a dwarf with the Template:L labor enabled. Ash is an intermediate good only used to make potash or Template:L.

Potash is created from ash or lye at an Template:L by a dwarf with the Template:L labor enabled. It is used mainly for fertilizing crops.

Pearlash is baked from potash at a Template:L (uses 1 Template:L) or Template:L by a dwarf with the Template:L labor enabled. Its sole use is in the manufacture of Template:L and Template:L items.

Ash, potash and pearlash are Template:L, stored in a bar stockpile and viewable in the stocks screen under "bars".

Ash is also a type of tree.
