Silver bars can be used for fairly valuable goods and as a component for making electrum. Weapons can also be made from silver, but all other metals that can be used for weapons deal more damage.
The most common use of silver is minting at a metalsmith's forge, creating coins which value is multiplied by 10[Verify]. Minted silver coins are then either used in the economy system or used as a somewhat valuable trade good when trading with caravans.
Silver weapons, like wooden ones, have only 50% the efficiency of iron, making them a safer choice for sparring sessions. And while you have to put up trade with filthy treehugging sandal-hippies elves to acquire wooden weapons, you can make beautiful silver ones yourself.
