This article is about an older version of DF.

Chitin is the material of an insect's carapace, but in Dwarf Fortress it is identical to Template:L in all but name.

Since in DF this only comes from butchering giant insects like Template:Ls and Template:Ls, it is quite Template:L (x10 multiplier) as a raw material, especially compared to most other leathers. Template:Ls occasionally carry chitin as a trade good, but especially if requested from a Template:L.
