This article is about an older version of DF.

An animal dissector uses a vermin creature in an animal trap to create an extract. This also requires a glass vial.

The only animal extracts in this version are cave spider venom and liquid fire, both of which are usable only as a trade good. Animal dissectors can also process purring maggots into a stack of 5 dwarven milk (which can be further processed into a stack of cheese) as well as a single piece of meat.
