I had also thought that this behavior had changed in the current version, but I just witnessed this in my current fort (v0.34.11) with 3 rock blocks falling into a channeled out brook. I am not certain what conditions dictate successful recovery versus dropping, but dropping is still occurring. This is what I want to put on the page, but I need to verify this first:

"However, dwarves will not care about loose items that are currently on top of the floor to be deconstructed, and such items can drop straight downverify. This can be irritating to the player if the materials drop into rivers or other inaccessible areas."Coaldiamond (talk) 21:00, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

Due to , this shouldn't happen (unless a dwarf happens to deconstruct a wall in an adjacent 16x16 block rather than the one they're standing in). I suppose that's possible, although I haven't noticed it. (I have noticed items on grates falling when deconstructing the grate, although I don't think that's related.) —Lethosor (talk) 21:10, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

:Hmmmm... According to the bug report, it specifically checks if the items were on the ground, only teleporting those that were. I can confirm that stacked minecarts do *not* teleport. It is possible that the "on the ground" flag works oddly with brook tiles (since they are walkable water), or perhaps your items were suspended somehow? (Also, some patches fix the bug above, which might result in significantly different behavior; please let us know if your items don't normally teleport.) --Loci (talk) 20:33, 5 February 2014 (UTC)

I can't find the discussion page. Is it worth mentioning that one can't build up stairs on a floor? Either it is, or I was doing it wrong. --182.249.246.37 (moved —Lethosor (talk) 10:58, 14 June 2014 (UTC))

:Constructed floors block the addition of other constructions in the tile, including stairs. I have added this information to the article.--Loci (talk) 16:06, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
