Bauxite is a magma proof material.  This makes it very usefull in the production of mechanisms that must be magma proof.  This is vital for the production of [[floodgates]] linked to mechanisms for magma channels because if Bauxite is not used, the mechanism will break, rendering the floodgate useless.
